WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "LEAN" AND "REGULAR" MODE?
There are two scale settings that will affect the way your body fat percentage is calculated.
The first setting is “regular” mode and applies to most people. This mode works well for people who don't get a great deal of exercise as well as those that exercise frequently.
“Lean” mode is intended for professional or very high-level athletes like marathon runners or body builders. Individuals with exceptionally low body fat relative to their muscle mass may want to consider lean mode; however, many very fit and active people still get more accurate readings in regular mode.
If the mode you've selected appears to be giving you an incorrect body fat percentage reading, you may want to switch modes. To edit the your scale's mode, sign into your dashboard and go to your Aria® settings page. Look under the “People” tab, then select the appropriate mode. Once you weigh in and the Aria syncs, the mode will switch.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN USE ONE ARIA?
The Aria can be set up for eight different accounts on the Fitbit website. To invite others to use your scale, see How do I invite others to use my Aria scale?
CAN OTHERS SEE THE MEASUREMENTS RECORDED BY MY ARIA?
Your measurements are private by default but you can adjust your privacy settings to make them visible to Fitbit friends. For security purposes should you give away your Aria or recycle it, make sure you first remove any personal data. To do so, turn the Aria over and stick a pin in the small hole on the left side. Hold the pin for a few seconds and then turn Aria back over. The message "Setup Active" means you've successfully reset your scale.
HOW LONG SHOULD MY BATTERIES LAST?
The Aria's batteries should last up to 6 months with regular use. A low battery icon will warn you when they need to be replaced.
IS THE ARIA WATERPROOF?
Aria is not waterproof, but it should withstand a small amount of moisture. If the Aria gets slightly wet, wipe it down with a dry towel for your safety. If it gets completely wet, take out the batteries and let it dry immediately.
CAN I USE THE ARIA IF I HAVE A PACEMAKER?
The Aria scale measures body mass using bioimpedance analysis, which sends a small electric signal through the body. We don't recommend using Aria if you have an electrical implant such as a heart pacemaker. Please consult with your doctor if you have any questions about using this device.
CAN PREGNANT WOMEN USE THE ARIA?
Ask your doctor whether the Aria is safe during your pregnancy. Technical specs are available at https://www.fitbit.com/aria#specs.
HOW SHOULD I STORE AND CLEAN MY ARIA?
The Aria should always be stored flat. When the scale is stored vertically, the Aria must recalibrate itself before you will see accurate results again. If the scale is moved or stored vertically, you may need to do anywhere from one to five consecutive weigh-ins to recalibrate the scale properly.
To clean your scale, wipe the surface of your Aria with a moist cloth. Be sure to dry it afterwards to avoid a slippery scale.
