Kieselguhr (diatomaceous earth) is a kind of rock with biological structure. The more diatom content in diatomaceous earth, the less impurities; the whiter the color, the finer the quality.

AquaMetix selected the finest kieselguhr, the gaps between the particles are much narrower, which enhance the filtration efficiency. Centramics Filter is much finer and more lubricious than the general ceramic filter, as it is powderless in nature and no added chemical elements during the manufacturing process.

Kieselguhr is hard, which can effectively separate sediment, rust and bacteria (such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella) on its the outer layer. With a pore size of less than 0.9 μm, the outer layer is used to block the dirt on the surface of the filter and prevent the pollutants from penetrating into the filter. 

It is an excellent medium for water filtration as it is reusable after cleaning the accumulated dirt at the outer layer, providing an economic and environmentally-friendly option for domestic use.
