Influenza (flu) is an acute respiratory illness caused by the influenza virus. The two most common types of influenza A and B viruses in Hong Kong are H1N1 and H3N2. Since it takes about two weeks after vaccination to develop antibodies, influenza vaccination should be given as soon as possible.
