Contraindications

Absolute Taboo:

Gastrointestinal obstruction, stenosis, or fistula (risk of capsule retention).

Relative taboos:

Electronic medical devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators are implanted in the body.
People with severe difficulty swallowing.
Pregnant woman.

Target audience:

1. Patients intolerant to conventional gastroscopy: This is the core applicable group. This includes patients with extreme fear or intolerance of traditional intubation gastroscopy, or those who cannot tolerate routine examinations due to poor cardiopulmonary function, physical weakness, or old age. 2. High-risk groups for gastric cancer: According to the National Health Commission's plan, individuals aged ≥45 years who meet any of the following conditions can consider magnetically controlled capsule endoscopy as a screening option: · Long-term residence in areas with a high incidence of gastric cancer; · Family history of gastric cancer (parents, children, siblings); · Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection; · Unhealthy lifestyle habits (high salt, pickled foods, smoking, heavy alcohol consumption); · Precancerous conditions such as chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric ulcers, or gastric polyps. 3. Individuals with unexplained gastrointestinal symptoms: Such as persistent acid reflux, belching, bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, melena, or unexplained weight loss. 4. Specific groups requiring follow-up gastroscopy: such as patients with chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric polyps, etc., who need regular monitoring of their condition but are subjectively unwilling to undergo frequent traditional endoscopic follow-ups. 5. Health check-up population: as a routine check-up item, it is especially suitable for groups that pay attention to digestive health management, or those with long-term irregular eating and sleeping habits and high work pressure.

Potential target population (small intestine related)

In addition to examining the stomach, capsule endoscopy can also examine the small intestine, and is suitable for the following situations:

• Unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding (especially if no lesions are found on gastroscopy and colonoscopy). • Unexplained iron deficiency anemia. • Suspected Crohn's disease or small intestinal tumor. • Small intestinal mucosal damage caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as aspirin and ibuprofen).

I. Endoscopy Appointment Guidelines

After receiving the order confirmation email from health.ESDlife, Actview Endoscopy Hospital will contact you via WhatsApp or email within 1–2 working days during office hours. You may also contact the hospital at least one working day in advance to schedule your appointment.

Upon arrival, hospital staff will verify your name, date of birth, mobile number, and the order confirmation email from health.ESDlife.

Rescheduling Policy:
If you need to reschedule, please contact the hospital at least 2 working days in advance using the contact details above.

Validity Period:
The endoscopy package is valid for 3 months from the date of payment confirmation. The examination must be completed within this period; otherwise, the package will be void.

Language Support:
If the attending doctor does not speak Cantonese, Actview Endoscopy Hospital can arrange medical staff to assist with translation or communicate in English.

Language Priority:
In case of discrepancies between the Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese versions of the merchant or check-up plan pages, the Traditional Chinese version shall prevail.

II. Endoscopy Report Collection and Explanation

On the day of your endoscopy, you may choose the language of your report (Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese).

Once the procedure is complete and you are fully awake, the endoscopy doctor will explain the report and hand it to you.

If a pathology examination is required:

The pathology report will be provided within 5 working days.
You will confirm the delivery method on the day of the examination (email or in-person follow-up appointment).

Pathology Report Delivery Options:

Email: The hospital will send the report to your provided email address.
Postal Mail: The report can be mailed to your designated address. Postage is cash-on-delivery (available for Hong Kong and Macau).

Report Explanation Options:

Phone Consultation: The hospital will contact you one day in advance to confirm the time. The doctor will call you at the scheduled time.
In-Person Consultation: The hospital will contact you one day in advance to confirm your visit time. You will meet the doctor at the hospital for a face-to-face explanation.
