ApoE Genotyping
There are many causes of Alzheimer's disease, with 60-80% of the risk explained by heritable factors. The risk of developing late-onset Alzheimer's disease is most strongly associated with the APOE ε4 genotype. Carrying one APOE ε4 genotype increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease by approximately 3-4 times, while carrying two APOE ε4 genotypes increases the risk by approximately 10-15 times. The test enables high risk individuals to implement targeted health management early, helping to prevent or delay the onset of the disease.
