Certain cancers are hereditary. This test detects genetic mutations correlated with hereditary cancers, allowing individuals to understand their innate risk of developing cancer. If one parent develops cancer due to a genetic predisposition, each child, regardless of gender, has a 1/2 chance of inheriting the cancer-related gene. Ultimately, they may face a similar risk of developing the same cancer as their parent. Genetic testing not only assists patients in identifying the cause of their condition but also alerts their family members to potential cancer risks. This enables proactive and targeted preventive measures, promoting prevention before disease onset and reducing the likelihood of developing cancer.
