- If the doctor assesses that the client is not suitable for endoscopy, a doctor consultation fee of HKD500 will be charged, and the remaining balance will be refunded.

The final price for the endoscopy service will be determined based on the results of the examination (i.e., the number of polyps and biopsies taken during the procedure). For your health, the doctor will usually remove the polyps directly during the examination. The patient will pay the difference at the hospital after the examination (WeChat HK and Alipay HK payments are accepted). If polyps are found during the examination, the typical laboratory fees are:

Eligible Population
-
Age requirement: 14 years old or above, both male and female.

Individuals with symptoms:
-
Difficulty swallowing, recurrent upper abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux, peptic ulcer, upper gastrointestinal bleeding (passing black tarry stools, suspected of having gastrointestinal cancer).

Blood in the stool, occult blood or black stool, mucus in the stool, changes in bowel habits (persistent constipation/diarrhea), abdominal cramps, difficulty defecating, a feeling of incomplete bowel evacuation, or symptoms related to colorectal cancer.

High-risk individuals for diseases such as esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, and colorectal cancer.

Routine examination needs: Individuals who need regular gastrointestinal endoscopy, especially those for early screening.

Lesion monitoring and follow-up: People who need regular monitoring and follow-up of previous lesions (chronic gastritis).

Health check-up needs: Individuals who wish to have a detailed health assessment through gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Contraindications
- The patient is unable to tolerate an endoscopy subsequent to an evaluation by a physician, such as acute cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disorders.
- Anesthesia risk: Conditions that pose an anesthesia risk are identified following an anesthesiologist's evaluation.

Pre-procedure consultation with a doctor.

Intravenous general anesthesia is administered, and the examination is conducted once the patient is asleep.

The endoscope is inserted through the mouth, passing through the esophagus and stomach, and into the duodenum for inspection.

The endoscope is inserted through the anus. During the procedure, you may feel abdominal bloating and a sensation of needing to defecate; these are normal reactions.

If polyps or suspicious tissues are found during the examination, the doctor will use forceps to remove the polyps and take tissue samples for biopsy. This procedure does not cause any pain.

The gastrointestinal endoscopy itself takes about 30-60 minutes, and the entire process can be completed in approximately 2 hours.

Six weeks before the examination: Stop taking antibiotics.

Two weeks before the examination: Stop taking stomach medications.

Three days before the examination: Stop eating high-fiber foods, including vegetables and fruits.

One day before the examination: Consume only liquid foods and drink 4 liters of bowel cleanser. After taking the bowel cleanser:

Eat liquid foods such as plain porridge, soups, and pulp-free juices.

Avoid dairy products, high-fiber foods, greasy or fried foods, nuts, seeds, rough vegetables, and fruit peels.

Avoid drinking beverages containing red or purple dyes.

Eight hours before the examination: Do not eat or drink, but you may drink a small amount of water.

On the day of the examination: Wear loose clothing.

Two hours before the examination: Remove dentures, contact lenses, jewelry, and metal items.
Things to note
- Gastrointestinal endoscopy is typically divided into two stages: the initial preoperative consultation and examination, followed by the actual endoscopy procedure.

If you have diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure, inform the doctor in advance.

If you are taking any medications, inform the doctor of the list of medications.

If you suspect or are pregnant, notify the doctor before the examination.

Due to general anesthesia, it is recommended to have a friend or family member accompany you to ensure safety.
Refunds and Changes
Once the package services are initiated, no discounts or refunds will be provided for unused services or examination items due to personal reasons, and they cannot be exchanged for other services.
I. Appointment for Physical Examination
- After purchasing the package through the health.ESDlife, the GBA Healthcare Group customer service will contact the customer within 1 working day to schedule an appointment for the physical examination. Customers can also call to enquire or make an appointment with the center one business day after order confirmation. - Validity period: The package is valid for 6 months. Client must undergo the relevant examinations within 6 months (from the date of confirmation of purchase) and must make an appointment for the examination five working days in advance; any packages after expiration date will be voided.
- Upon arrival, the staff of the hospital will verify the customer's name, date of birth, mobile number, and the email confirming successful purchase from health.ESDlife.
II. Collection and Interpretation of Report
After health check, it generally takes about 7-14 working days to finish the medical report. The report interpretation can be scheduled based on the doctor's visiting hours, both online and offline interpratation are supported.

- In-person collection: Reports can be collected in person at the Hong Kong and Macau resident service centers or Hong Kong Premier clinic. - SF Express Report Delivery: Reports will be sent by mail to the provided address (postage included).
- Electronic Report: Reports can be sent via email/ WhatsApp (+852 6746 3801).
- Interpretation of Report

- Mainland Offline Report Interpretation: Visit the Hong Kong and Macao Residents Service Center where the scheduled doctor is located for interpretation.
- Online Report Interpretation: Schedule a "video consultation" appointment through the "Ruida Internet Hospital" mini-program.
