Primecare Speech Therapy Assessment (1 hour)
The speech therapists of our center assess the language and articulation ability, usage of voice, oral muscle function and swallowing ability of children under 12 years old, followed by suggestions for related treatments when needed. The center provides services in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

Assessment include:
- understand the children’s background and development process, conduct standardised scales or other tests (including: Reynell Developmental Language Scales; RDLS, Symbolic Play Test (SPT), Hong Kong Cantonese Oral Language Assessment Scale (HKCOLAS), Cantonese (Hong Kong) Language Expression scale, Cantonese Read-Aloud Test; CRAT, RDLS-III, CELF-P, etc.) to assess children’s language understanding, ability to express, articulation development and oral muscle function, etc., following by the most appropriate treatment goals.
If your child has the following situations, parents can consider to arrange a Speech Therapy Assessment for them:
8-12 months
- Cannot pay attention to what others are saying
- Failed to understand simple instructions under the prompts of gestures or the environment, such as: "Papa", "Byebye"
- Failure to make different or a series of sounds to express their needs
- Failed to imitate words
13-14 months
- Cannot speak a word
- Failed to distinguish the names, object names, body parts of multiple familiar people
- Fail to say 1-2 word with meanings, such as: "Dad", "Mom"
- Failed to combine words together, for example: expressing "let’s go", "want a biscuit"
25-30 months
- Do not understand "Do you want?", "Are there any?"
31-36 months
- Cannot use complete sentences for daily communication, such as "I had biscuits"
