hs-Troponin I
This test measures the level of troponin in the blood. When the heart is well, troponin is in the heart muscle cells and does not reach the blood. Only when the heart is damaged does troponin appear in the blood, as in a heart attack. There are other causes of elevated troponin, but a heart attack is the most common.
Lactic dehydrogenase (LDH)
LDH is found in many of the body's tissues and organs, including the muscles, liver, heart, pancreas, kidneys, brain and blood cells. Higher than normal LDH levels can be seen in heart attack, kidney disease, and muscle injury.
Creatine kinase (CPK Level)
When the total CPK level is very high, it most often means there has been injury or stress to muscle tissue, the heart, or the brain. Muscle tissue injury is most likely. When a muscle is damaged, CPK leaks into the bloodstream.
