3D Mammogram is an advanced technique. It uses a rotating X-ray beam to capture a series of images of the breast, which are then reconstructed by a computer to create a three-dimensional image of the breast. This three-dimensional image provides more detailed and clearer information about the breast tissue, aiding doctors in more accurately detecting and evaluating breast abnormalities. 3D mammography also reduces the issue of image overlap and improves the detection rate, especially when it comes to detecting small breast tumors.
Bone density measurement (Dexa) is a non-invasive examination used to assess the density and strength of the skeletal system. It is commonly employed to detect and monitor the risk of osteoporosis (reduced bone mass and brittle bone tissue) and evaluate overall bone health.
The results of bone density measurement are expressed in T-scores and Z-scores, which compare your bone density to the average values of a healthy population of the same age. The T-score reflects the comparison of your bone density to that of young adult individuals, while the Z-score compares it to individuals of the same age. Lower T-scores or Z-scores may indicate lower bone density and an increased risk of osteoporosis.
Bone density measurement is a safe and effective diagnostic method that helps doctors assess your bone health and determine the risk of osteoporosis.
