Precautions

• Gastrointestinal endoscopy is preset to be completed twice, including the first preoperative examination and the gastrointestinal endoscopy operation. 
• Your doctor may suggest that additional examinations not included in the package need to be paid separately based on your situation.
• If complicated operations such as additional examinations or treatments are found during endoscopy, the doctor will usually deal with it directly for the sake of your health. The fees for the endoscopic operations and equipment used are not included in this package. Separate settlement required

Q1: Will gastrointestinal endoscopy cause gastrointestinal damage?

1. Gastroenteroscopy is a relatively safe examination and will not cause damage in most cases.
2. Since the gastroscope passes through the pharynx during gastroscopy, gas needs to be injected into the stomach for detailed observation. Some patients may experience mild abdominal pain, pharyngeal pain and pharyngeal discomfort after surgery, which may disappear on their own.
3. A very small number of patients may have complications from bleeding, infection or perforation. Elderly people with underlying diseases may suffer from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents, but the chances of the above complications are extremely low. Specialists and anesthesiologists will explain the probability of the above situations occurring and the follow-up measures. On the day of the examination, specialists will perform gentle operations and anesthesiologists and nurses will monitor the entire process.

Q2: If polyps are found during gastrointestinal endoscopy, will the doctor deal with it directly for me?
For your better experience, if polyps are found during the examination, our doctors will usually remove them directly for you, but the resulting treatment and consumables will need to be billed separately.

Q3: What are the common ways to remove polyps?
If the polyps are relatively small, polyps within 0.5cm can be removed using biopsy. If the polyps are larger than 0.5cm, colonoscopy with a snare is required to remove the polyps. The specific operation and examination process will be determined by the doctor depending on the situation. To make the resection as clean as possible and taking into account safety factors, it is necessary to use a needle for submucosal injection and then perform snare resection. Titanium clips are often placed on the wound surface after resection to promote wound healing and prevent complications such as bleeding and perforation. Health Report:

• A detailed analysis report of your results, plans and advice for your health management will be given by the doctor.
• Most of the doctors at UFH speak Cantonese or English. If the doctor on duty does not, there are other healthcare professionals who can translate for you.
• ID card and order confirmation letter are required on the day of booking to confirm identity,
• The purchased checkup plan or vaccine is valid for 6 months. Customers should receive relevant services within 6 months (counting from the date of payment confirmation), after which the purchase will be void.
• There are no refunds once an order is confirmed.
• The checkup report will normally be issued within 10 working days after the medical examination.
